We are devoted to upholding the highest standards of business operations and ethics in our activities thereof in our operations. The working techniques, judgments, and policies of Maxscale are guided by four guiding principles: integrity, transparency, responsibility, and professionalism.
Maxscale’s working culture and values are formed by the Code of Conduct, as well as the regulations, definitions of policies, and procedures governing our corporate operations.
All Maxscale staff, supervisors, and directors (hence referred to as “personnel”) are subject to the Code of Conduct. Maxscale expects all employees to follow these standards, set a good example for others, and report any violations to the firm. The company’s senior management and supervisors carry an unique duty for ensuring that all levels of the organization are familiar with these rules and that they are followed. Employees who have issues concerning the Code of Conduct or its applicability should contact the Director, Administration, or the company’s Lead Counsel.
Each employee’s familiarity with and compliance with the Code of Conduct is evaluated during annual development discussions with the employees. Maxscale takes any violations of the Code of Conduct seriously, addresses them, and takes the necessary steps to avoid such violations from occurring in the future. Any violations of these guidelines may result in termination of employment.
Compliance with laws governing our operations is the foundation of our business.. All Maxscale businesses must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Maxscale mandates that all workers understand the regulatory standards that apply to their area of responsibility and never promote or assist customers or colleagues in breaking any laws or rules. All suspected unlawful, fraudulent, or otherwise dishonest activities must be reported to the company promptly.
The trust of our customers and stakeholders is vital for our business to be in a successful business operations. We respect our customers’ trade secrets and the confidentiality of the materials they submit to us.
Maxscale expects all employees to keep any information received from clients and other stakeholders confidential unless it has previously been released or is intended to be published separately. Materials containing commercial or business-related information or personal data are examples of confidential customer information. All Maxscale personnel are expected to handle electronic data or information in paper format with care, as well as to take extra precautions while processing materials outside of Maxscale’s premises.
Maxscale is committed to protecting personal data and processing it responsibly in accordance with data protection legislation. When it comes to the processing of personal data, employees must follow Maxscale’s data protection policy.
Maxscale despises all forms of corruption. Employees of Maxscale may not promise, offer, seek, or accept bribes, either directly or indirectly. Apart from true money incentives, such as monetary gifts, significant discounts, or purchasing perks, bribes or inappropriate influencing may emerge as other benefits, such as free travel, lodging, or other services. Concerning corporate presents, employees should be familiar with and follow the company’s internal norms for the giving and receiving of gifts and hospitality.
Maxscale complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and procedures in its operations to prevent money laundering, terrorism financing, and other unlawful acts. Employees at Maxscale are required to follow the company’s internal procedures on money laundering and the prevention of terrorist financing.
Personnel at Maxscale are not permitted to make private investments based on sensitive or insider knowledge. Each employee must refrain from engaging in any private investment or professional activity (such as consultancy) that may result in a conflict of interest with their employment at Maxscale. Maxscale does not condone the disclosure of insider information to third parties or the use of such knowledge for personal gain in any way. Personnel are expected to be familiar with and follow the company’s policies on employee interests and Board memberships.
Maxscale values transparency, dependability, and open communication with customers, employees, business partners, shareholders, other stakeholders, and the general public. Employees at Maxscale should always do their work as transparently as possible while adhering to the standards of confidentiality.
Maxscale encourages its employees to position themselves as industry experts of their field of expertise in traditional and social media, with the help of the communications staff. All media queries should be sent to the communications staff first. There is training provided for social media activities, and when using social media, the company’s general operating guidelines should be followed.
Maxscale’s business activities necessitate human rights compliance as well as environmental, social, and financial accountability. The Maxscale Act, Finland’s development policy and ownership direction, Maxscale’s strategy, and the policy on environmental and social responsibility, which applies international best practices and cooperation with other European Development Financiers, control Maxscale’s operations (EDFIs).
Maxscale is pledged to operating in accordance with various international declarations and treaties relating to, among other things, environmental and social responsibility, human rights, gender equality, and responsible taxation, such as:
the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and Conventions; the Sustainable Development Goals; the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights; and the Convention on the Rights of the Child; the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work; and the World Bank Group’s environmental and social responsibility policies

No action that is perceived to be discriminatory, bullying, harassing, or improper is tolerated.

Maxscale’s operations are founded on risk-taking and skilled risk management. Maxscale operates in professional investing operations and is committed to meticulously managing the assets entrusted to it. All personnel are expected to operate professionally and impartially in accordance with the standards outlined above.
Maxscale, as an employer, expects its employees to have acceptable professional, linguistic, and technological abilities for their job obligations. Maxscale encourages its employees to consistently improve their skills and, when necessary, to seek advice and support from coworkers.
All reported Code of Conduct infractions are processed and treated in accordance with the severity of the violation.
If any workers have questions about how to comply with or apply the Code of Conduct, they should contact the Director, Administration, or the Lead Counsel.
Maxscale employees are encouraged to report suspected Code of Conduct infractions to their line manager, the Director, Administration, or the Lead Counsel, the occupational safety and health organization, or the CEO. If using these methods is not possible, reports can be made anonymously via the Arkku intranet feedback form or the reporting channel offered on Maxscale’s external website.
External parties are invited to report any suspected Code of Conduct violations through the reporting mechanism available on the company’s website.
